Notes
In order to graduate from the sociology undergraduate program with a double major, a total of 90 ECTS courses must be taken. 11 of these courses are compulsory and 5 are departmental elective courses.
Based on the Senate decision dated 28.12.2021, in addition to the major obligations (240 ECTS), students enrolled in the double major program must take at least 6 courses with a total of not less than 30 ECTS in order to graduate.
Note from the department:
• If one or more of the compulsory courses and/or courses in the elective pool of the Sociology Department listed above have been successfully completed with similar contents within the department plans of the first major, they can be substituted for compulsory courses or elective courses by the decision of the Sociology Department Board and the Faculty Executive Board.
• If the student's first major program includes a compulsory thesis writing course, the student will take the Graduation Thesis I-II courses of the Department of Sociology instead. If the thesis writing course in the first major is an elective course, if the student chooses the elective thesis writing course in the first major, Graduation Thesis I-II courses of the Sociology Department can be substituted by the decision of the Sociology Department Board and the Faculty Executive Board. If the ECTS of the Graduation Thesis I-II courses to be taken in the major is below 10 ECTS, the student must complete the ECTS load by taking departmental elective courses.
