Graduates of the Department of Sociology at Ibn Haldun University continue their academic journeys with new opportunities at prestigious graduate institutions in Türkiye and abroad.
Our graduate Edanur Karakoç has been admitted to the MA Program in Sociology at Boğaziçi University. During her undergraduate studies at Ibn Haldun University, Karakoç completed her thesis under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Merve Reyhan Ceylan. Her thesis, titled “Perception of Social Scientists on Children Driven into Crime: The Construction of a Concept and Its Structural Background”, examined the phenomenon of children driven into crime from the perspective of social scientists, focusing on the construction of the concept and its structural background.
Another graduate, Aysha Shahalabath, has been admitted to the MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology program at Central European University in Vienna. Shahalabath conducted her undergraduate thesis under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Tesnim Khriji. Her thesis, titled “Disciplined Bodies, Disciplined Minds: A Critical Inquiry into the Wellness Industry”, critically examined the wellness industry, with a focus on the relationship between bodies, minds, and social practices.
