Our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Aras, has edited a remarkable work entitled "Anthropology and Sociology of Emotions: Theoretical and Ethnographic Perspectives from Turkey and Beyond", published by Ibn Haldun University Press, with contributions from numerous esteemed national and international researchers.
This significant volume was developed from papers presented at the workshop "Transitions, Precarities, and Politics: Studying Emotions and Affect in Turkey," organized by Prof. Dr. Aras at our university on May 5-6, 2023. In the book, the authors move beyond Eurocentric, secular, and positivist perspectives, offering original theoretical and ethnographic analyses on emotions and their impacts within the context of Türkiye, especially in light of various issues and contemporary crises.
We extend our congratulations to our esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Aras, and all contributing researchers, celebrating their valuable contributions to the critical discourse at the intersection of emotions, politics, migration, identity, and everyday life in Türkiye.
