İbn Haldun University PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology, Ayesha Syed, participated in the Cambridge Dialogues Colloquium 2025, organized by the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge and held between 8–12 December 2025. At the colloquium, which was conducted under the main theme “Nurturing Aesthetic Sensibilities: Poetry and Selfhood in Islamic Philosophy of Education,” Syed presented her paper titled “The Role of Education in Shaping a Distinct Individual.” Bringing together academics and practitioners through an interdisciplinary approach, the event aimed to carry forward the rich heritage of poetry, aesthetics, and philosophy in Islamic educational thought and practice, while also developing new proposals for contemporary educational frameworks.
In addition to her academic presentation, Ayesha Syed appeared as a guest on Islam Channel UK, one of the leading media outlets in the United Kingdom. In an interview on The Today Show, which she joined as a representative of our university, Syed shared her research experiences in Türkiye and her academic work with an international audience.
